African Youths and Social Media

The social media has opened up opportunities for us as Africans in so many ways. People from different countries can now meet online and share cogent ideas on how to move the continent forward. We could harvest ideas from vibrant young minds across the continent and harness them to help push us from where we are to where we deserve to be.
But this has not been the case, what we have instead is recurring case of people from one country going against another country to prove that their country is better than the other people’s. It is heartbreaking seeing this kind of uncultured behaviour, especially given the abundance of positive things we could achieve with social media. One can only imagine our heroes past twisting and turning in their graves at the imagination of what they could have achieved if they had the social media.
