Homosexuality in Africa: A Non-Issue?

Homosexuality or being gay describes people that are attracted to their own gender as opposed to the opposite gender.Up until a few years ago, most Africans did not have an understanding of what it meant to be a homosexual as it is very foreign to our beliefs and cultural values.

However, in their characteristic way, the west has found a way to penetrate our borders with this alien issue that they describe as “human right”. While the rest of Africa is strictly opposed to this (well, except the South Africans), I am nonchalant about it. Homosexuality means nothing to me. it is not part of my realities and I don’t think Africa should glorify it by giving it too much attention. What are your thoughts?
